Due date doesn't match conception

Hello
I am 28 weeks pregnant and my EDD is the 19th September. My last period was the 16th December 2015 and I know me and my partner had sex on the 30th December early hours twice without protection. We had spent xmas apart because we were with our families and now he's questioning conception and due date. Which is making me question things even though I know I've done nothing wrong. I have tried to explain I may have ovulated later than normal.

I conceived on 31st December and EDD was 19th Sept. Baby was actually born on 13th. Your dates sound right to me!

pacific with dc2 my GP gave me an estimated due date of April. He didn't see the need to be any more specific than that Grin

Glovebug I conceived on the 1st Jan apparently and my edd is 7th October so your dd was 37 and a half weeks?

I have the same due date as you! We only had unprotected sex once (New Year party...), your date sounds about right. I get how this happens, though. They confidently tell you that they know your due date, as if the size of the baby on a scan trumps the unlikelihood of immaculate conception. Then there's the weird extra two weeks they give you from your period date. They don't talk much about how they could be up to a week out either way. It really got to me at the start. You should still tell your partner he's being a got, though!

Your edd from scan is approx 38 weeks from around the time you ovulate (and therefore conceive - not necessarily have sex that day) the extra 2 weeks are added onto the beginning as they assume everyone has a 28 day cycle and they count 40 weeks from day one of your period before you have your scan so they like to keep it consistent.

Tealeaf she was 39 weeks according scan and from just putting dates in to online calculator it was only a few days different. It is really confusing Confused
