Hi guys,

I'm looking at either the Chicco next to me or the snuzpod....does anyone have any recommendations? Thank you! x

What makes these two better than the bednest, as only one poster has mentioned that?

emsyj · 23/06/2016 12:30

Excellent, I'm going to go for the Chicco. I am definitely getting a Sleepyhead too!

I think some people are scared off them following the death from incorrect use

FriendlyCod · 23/06/2016 12:39

Ohhh I also read that the chicco couldn't be unzipped while next to bed....may go for this then since its cheaper

seven201 · 23/06/2016 13:31

I also thought the Chicco couldn't be opened when attached to bed! They really should advertise that feature better as it seems it's a common misconception.

Zip noise no issue on the snuzpod for us - we just open it slowly. Footprint is an issue for us so that was a factor in us picking the snuz.

Salene · 23/06/2016 13:43

I know why people think you have to remove it from bed to zip down because you unzip it and clip bar into a slot down ended frame if you want side down all the time

To do this you would need to remove it

But if you just want side down to remove baby or interact with baby for awhile you just unzip it and bar and material will sit down side of mattress

Hope that makes sense

I will look on you tube there must be a video of it unziping

This girl speaks about what I'm speaking about

Hope that helps

When people say the Chicco lasts longer, I thought you had to stop using it when the baby can sit up? My DS could do that at six months, which I think is about average? If you don't have to move them out then, then I think I'll go for the Chicco. I was going to hire a bednest.

Here is a link I watched of someone giving review of both having used them both

Snuzpod v chicco

I had a snuzpod for my first and will be using it with number 2 who is on her way. I loved it. First few night he would only sleep on me/DP so we bought a cocoonababy which went in the snuzpod until he was 8 weeks old and then he slept in the snuzpod until 5 months when he went into his cot in his own room.

Great for BF in the night without having to get up and easy to soothe by stroking him when he stirred without having to move very much. The only pain was having to shimmy down the bed to get out in the morning but that was a small price to pay Smile

I've bought a chicco.

I think the 'official' method of raising/lowering the side is to detach the crib from your bed, this is because the detatchable bar then goes down and slots in underneath the cot, which you cant do if the cot is still attached to the bed. However I think Salene's method would work well, I hadnt thought of that!

We used a bednest with DS1 and absolutely loved it. So much so that when we found out we were having DS2 we bought it outright from NCT to use again.

Sadly there was a heartbreaking case of a baby dying after the bednest was bought second hand and not used correctly Sad i believe it was set up with the incorrect mattress which was too high for the sides and the side was left half way up, allowing baby to roll onto this and cause breathing problems.

Very scary indeed but I haven't thought twice about using our bednest again. DS loved it, I loved it and hopefully DS2 will aswell.

Not a great photo but here's our bednest in use (yes, DH does have marvel photos above the bed Blush)
