if someone could just tell me why I have had this headache for the last day 2 days it might help me to cope with it

what sort of headache? migraine or flashing lights type?

TrinityRhino · 20/01/2007 21:42

it's kind of a thumping type headache around the front and top of my head gets worse if I exert myself. it's making me irritable

someone come along and tell me that they had a headache for a couple of days and then went into labour....that would make me feel better

still 2 weeks till due date though

Drink lots of water. A very good brand of iron and folic acid is Fefol and they don't have constipation side effects as slow release.

lulumama · 20/01/2007 21:46

if you have any visual disturbances, you must get checked out

also, floridex and spatone are good natural iron sources.

agree re lots of water

also, you can have a couple of paracetomal if it is really bad

poor you x

Hi, it is possible you could be allergic to a different ingredient in the pills that could give you a headache. How anaemic were you? (they should have told you a number, probably less than 12)

TrinityRhino · 20/01/2007 21:54

I had my bloods taken and 2 days later got a phonecall from the doctors surgery

it was the receptionist and she told me there was a prescrition to be picked up
that was all the info I got, first of all I thought she was mistaken and said I haven't asked for anything

she said oops sorry the midwife has requested it, i realised what it must be and then was right when dh picked it up

I can probably find out on monday

Sorry - wrote that post then laptop died. All I was going to say was that sometimes they give pregaday because you're 'borderline' rather than seriously anaemic - if that's the case for you then you could discuss with your GP/midwife if you really need the tablets.

Again, any dizzness, visual disturbances, swelling or if it doesn't improve with the next few days go get your BP checked immediately - apart from that I hope the paracetamol is working and you sleep well - all be over soon!

well, I still have a headache and it's beginning to drive me stir crazy. I rang my MW this morning but she didn't answer so I rang NHS 24 and they were lovely. the nurse has seen that one of my MW team is actually in the area and she is going to come and see me to check me out

A horrendous side effect I got as soon as I took them its not worth the tablets so Ive switched to sparone and juicing for vitamin C and wholegrain cereal for folic acid. I read Spatone and Floradix are much more effective with barely any side effects. Its horrible the tiredness but I cant be doing headaxhes and stomach cramps and nausea on top. Makes me.wonder what the effect is on baby
