So.. I'm really early in my pregnancy and so constipated! Sorry for the tmi but does anyone have any suggestions to get rid of it and avoid it through the rest of my pregnancy?

Thanks in advance lol x

Find out what works for you and mix it up.

I have all bran and apricots and at least 8 pints of water every day, a poo-ing stool to put my feet on, and lactulose when I need it. Do what you can throughout your pregnancy to keep regular.

Not to alarm you but I wasn't as vigilant about "just constipation" as I should have been and since my second pregnancy 5 months ago; I have had piles that had me in agony for over a week (twice), a rectocele prolapse needing physio and just general constipation if I don't stay on the programme. If I haven't been by 10am now, I hit the laxitives.

It's all basically damage from being backed up for 9 months solid (twice). As you're early in your pregnancy, start to manage now! Stay hydrated, eat loads of fibre and don't strain too much!

Smoothie made with dates, flaxseed, banana and cocoa powder helped me lots.
