Bleeding at 9 weeks - any advice really appreciated

I'm 9+3 weeks pregnant. Last week i had a bit of a heavier discharge and then yesterday I started bleeding, it was dark brown and not very much, but when I wipe you can see it. I was hoping it was going to stop over night but it hasn't. I had to have an early scan week before last (at 8 weeks) and that showed everything looked fine. I am totally stressed out about this now and worrying. I can't get an appt at the doc until next week and I don't have a midwife to call. I'd really appreciate any advice

If you are really worried I'd contact the maternity unit that you'll be going to.

I don't really have any other advice but hopefully this bump will get others posting.

Could you ring the local hospitals to see if there are any EPU's you could attend? If you had a scan at 8 weeks would you still be under ones care? If not I would perhaps try and attend A and E. I read a stat recently which says that once a hearbeat has been found on an embryo the chance of a successful pregnancy is 95%. I hope that might reassure but I would still try and get yourself checked.

Thanks, I tried calling the hospital where I will be going and they weren't helpful, said I had to be referred by my doctor. i went to the EPU of another hospital when I went last time but I have been there twice now and the last time they kind of implied that I shouldn't really go again. Should i just wait to see if the bleeding stops or go again to that same EPU and ignore the fact they don't really want me?

If you are bleeding now I'm sure that wont stand. Just go.

I would go back to the EPU and who cares if they think you shouldn't be there...it's not like you're there because you thought it'd be a fun day out! You're a pregnant lady with symptoms that are scaring you and you deserve some reassurance.

I know every situation is different but if it helps at all I had bleeding (some brown some bright red) and cramping every other week for the first 12 weeks but I've now made it to 15 weeks and fingers crossed all is well.

I totally feel for you though because it's such an emotional rollercoaster and all you want is to be able to scan yourself at home to see what's happening.

My EPU were lovely though but I know I was very lucky. Can you take someone with you for support?

Will be thinking of you and keeping everything crossed that it all works out for you.

Take Care xx

Ps Heartbeat at 8 weeks is definitely a very positive sign!
