What happens if I go into labour before ELCS

OK, ages away from birth, but this is playing in my mind.

I'm having an ELCS (3rd degree tear last time and traumatic birth). But dd was born at 39 weeks after I went into labour at 38+5.

I'm expecting that my c section will be at 39 weeks, so what happens if my labour starts before then?

I had an elcs for breech last time. I was told if I went into spontaneous labour to call delivery and I'd need to come in immediately for an unplanned cs. It'd be classed as an emcs as it wasn't on the day's schedule, but it wouldn't necessarily be a straight to theatre job they'd just get me in asap around other more urgent cs IYKWIM. So an emcs, but not an emergency Smile

That happened to me. Planned c-section but ended up being classed an 'emergency' but I really don't think it was any different from the elective - I still had time to put my choice of music on etc. Good luck :)

we're booked in for a section in 11 sleeps. (absolutely not counting) currently 36+1 - i got told same as skankingpiglet - to call delivery and go in and they'd assess / fit me in.

That's reassuring to know, thanks :)
