Hi all. 38 weeks today and been having braxton hicks quite a lot - not hugely painful but enough to take my breath away. Also had hypertension and back into the clinic today to get BP checked etc.
However this morning I've woken up with horrendous cramps stomach pains but they're over the top of my bump under my ribs. (Not gallstones as I have had the bladder removed). Sometimes it's worse than others but it it's pretty constant.
Also can't decide if it's wind pain although I've managed to pass some wind at both ends (sorry for tmi). I've taken some paracetamol but they don't seem to be taking the edge off.
I really don't want to be ringing mat assessment, especially if this is nothing to worry about as I've got an appointment at lunch time anyway. Just not sure I can cope with 4 hours of this pain.
Any advice/ideas?
Thanks X

Ring the maternity unit. I also have hypertension and have been told to look out for symptoms like this as pain under the ribs can be a sign of pre-eclampsia.

What frika said. Pain there could be a sign of pre-eclampsia so give them a ring - they may want to see you sooner.

Thanks guys. Phoned them and they told me just to keep to my appointment. Manage to get a bit more sleep.
BP is sky high again and they're admitting me. Again.
Just want this baby out!
