Trying for a baby after cerazette!

Hi. I've been off cerazette for a little over a month now as me and my fiancé decided we would like to try for a baby.

I've bought ovulation strips ( if that's what you call them) to test when I am ovulation but it's coming back negative no matter how many I take? I thought maybe pregnant but still negative for both.

I was just wondering if anyone has any advice on how this works after this pill. Like my chances of falling pregnant, waiting time, how many times do I have sex, do I need a period first? Like I'm sick of reading unhelpful posts or people with horror stories. I feel so hopeless :( someone please help.

Took a clear blue test and that's come negative too but my stomach is very hard and tender to the point I can't even lay on it which had me a bit panicked so going for a blood test tomorrow and if no pregnancy maybe I'll get referred for a scan :-( wish me look people!

Hi Ladys

Been off cerazette not for three weeks, bloated, cramps and period type pains my nipples are SO painful and my boobs r so big and heavy!! Thought I was pregnant but done a test and nothing .... Reading all your posts looks like u have all had similar symptoms of coming off this pill if my GP had told me how bad this pill was to come off I would never have gone on it!!! Also I suffer with depression and anxiety so god knows why they have put me on this pill because it could have made me a lot worse (thank god it hasn't) iv been on cerazette for a year and before that the injection for two years iv had no period for the whole year iv been on this pill hoping I come on soon or either get pregnant this is all new to me as I fell pregnant in 4days with my 1st xxx

I've done this twice. Both times it has taken about six weeks to get my period, during which time I had pms symptoms for weeks. I started TTC after my first period; first time it took one month and the second time two.

I've never tried opks but I have done the thing where you take your temperature every morning to track ovulation - this could definitely help you to time your attempts to conceive, and is also a great way to learn about your cycle even if you aren't TTC.

I conceived 2 weeks after stopping cerazette. A happy surprise in my case, I was wondering when I would get a period then thought I better test... I'm 38 weeks now!

Yep same except mine's 7.....

Hey everyone! I was the one that made the post so just updating everyone :)

I did FINALLY get my period which was pretty strange my body just acted like it was dying hahaha but I'm so glad it came along as now apparently after keeping up with a chart and listing things well I'm ovulating :) even though we've been trying none stop we have both been so excited watching the chart go up everyday and it's just a little waiting game but we are so excited!

Been taking folic acid and weirdly enough it's made me very well in myself? Maybe it's all in my head but it's levelled me out if that would be the best way to describe it.

I wish I just stopped worrying before and listened to everyone telling me to wait for a period haha! But I'm now happy my body is back in order and I can FINALLY start the amazing process of bringing a little life into the world xxxxx

I'm 3 weeks off of cerazette now... Had spotting for 2 days about 5 days after coming off.

Just waiting for af now I guess...whenever that will be!

Been dtd quite often, every 2-3 days just in case!

Any other updates? x

Hey!!

I've been tracking ovulation and listing every single detail down on the Ovia app and it's kept me so on track with ovulation and other things but good news (I'm hoping) that my period is late this month and I'm praying to god this is a sign but the downfall is tests are still saying negative which is upsetting but a few people I've spoken to and even stuff I've read they found out at 8weeks or they needed blood tests for a solid results as tests give weird or different answers. Giving it a few more days and if no period I'll be off to the docs, I'm hoping it's good news Smile

I got pregnant 4 months after stopping cerazette but lost that one then gotoregnant again 3 months later.

My big piece of advice - stop the monitoring - I ditched the ovulation strips , the thermometer, and just had lots of sex. The only thing I noted down was my period dates. I was stressing due to my age and weight and put a lot of pressure on myself. Stopped over thinking and two months later pregnant!

I didn't go back on between pregnancies but with second I just noted period dates and took 2 months!

Im only on cycle 1 and I'm obsessing already. It's all I think about literally. I constantly on my phone reading threads and looking things up. I need to stop but it sooooo hard!

Tattooedmommybear2 · 23/08/2016 09:10

I'm feeling you both with the over checking and monitoring everything! My partner even thinks it's odd I have to list when we have sexGrin

I fell pregnant on cerazette a few years ago although my pregnancy unsuccessful (not related at all).

This pregnancy I found the Natural Cycles app that helps you track your fertile time and time sex seemed to work for us: www.naturalcycles.com/en/

Maybe it would be helpful to help you get to know your cycle after the pill?

You have to measure your temperature every day and it predicts when you ovulate. I'm not going to lie, I found it a bit stressful waiting for it to say when/if I'd ovulated, and also having to take my temperature all the time, but we conceived in two months and helped time sex (personally I can't manage more than 12 times a month and also getting enough sleep!) so I think it helped personally.

The month I conceived my OPK strips all came back negative which apparently unnecessarily stressed me out as I must have conceived at some point!

Lots of luck
x

Congratulations to those of you who are pregnant and best of luck to those trying. I'm new on here and thought I'd add my two pence worth. Hope to share TTC and pregnancy stories with you all :)

I came off Cerazette to TTC for the first time and I've finally just had my first AF two months later. I never had periods on the mini-pill, never had a withdrawal bleed after coming off it, and had a weird mix of pregnancy-like symptoms (sore boobs, funny tummy, fatigue and so on) until last week, so I was convincing myself I'd got lucky early. (I don't know how much of it was in my head.) Now at least I can start tracking my cycles properly – I'm giving the Ovia app a go. Anyone else using it?

I've never been so glad to see AF again after years of nothing on the pill!
