Nesting - seriously?!

I'm 33 weeks pregnant with DC2. For the last few weeks I have had absolutely overwhelming nesting urges. To the point where I can't settle at all!!

I mean I am so tired and busy with DS (19 months) that I don't actually get much done, but I'm finding it completely over the top and I'm almost in tears constantly thinking about it!!!

I didn't have this with DS so it's so alien. Anyone else? Is this normal?!

I'm 28 weeks pregnant with a boy and last week I decided to deep clean the entire house. I went totally mad for about 3 days but then got really frustrated because it didn't look perfect and I hadn't finished all the rooms. So then I gave up and have been really lazy ever since.

When I was pregnant with my DD I had the nesting thing right at the end so at 40 weeks I was making a banana bread every day even whilst actually in labour. And I washed and ironed every single babygro. This baby will be lucky to have a babygro to wear!

I wish I felt like this! I'm 29 weeks tomorrow and have a skip on the drive waiting to be filled with all the crap I need to get rid of before we start the nursery and just cannot find the will or energy to make a start on it.

When did all your nesting urges start? And how much would it cost for a deep clean... Would definitely consider having one of these!

Mine started ages ago! I've been panicking and buying things for months and cleaning and organising.

I'm paying someone £12 an hour to come do it, I'm reckoning 4-5 hours?? But I actually don't care at this point! I'll pay whatever it costs!

That's not too bad... Was expecting it to be more. I paid that to have my car cleaned last week 😳 so will definitely look into that. Will probably be needed as am having new windows and plastering done in a few weeks. Might feel a bit more like nesting when all of those big jobs are out of the way

I'm 39 weeks got overwhelming urge to clean - but in a new build house it's bloody spotless lol - nice issue to have! Spent the day dusting the skirting boards and just obsessively ironed my husbands gym tshirt s FFS! I'm having a boy. With DS1 it was worse - I made husband move all the furniture so I could wash walls etc ha

Well I've cleaned the house top to bottom this morning! Still not happy with it though.

Luckystar1 · 10/06/2016 19:28

I ironed today, feeling a lot better. And I did a massive list of jobs to be done last night, which was a good feeling (although DH thinks it's over kill to the max...)

Last pregnancy: had baby whilst in the middle of loft conversion project, baby came home to a building site.

This pregnancy: house move

All whilst suffering from crippling SPD. Why oh why can't I organise my life better so I can just do something tame like tidy a few cupboards? Grin

PickledLilly · 10/06/2016 22:57

Well, hopefully house move before the baby arrives anyway, I think all parties have been made aware that there is a crazed hormonal pregnant woman involved and they better bloody hurry up if they want to live...
