Have you done NCT for subsequent babies?

I didn't do NCT with my two young daughters, but I'm thinking about having a third and always feel like I missed out by not doing it. Most of my friends did it and lots made great friends for them and their children and see each other a lot...

Is it weird to do it for a third baby though? Most people do it for their first so you'd be out of place right?

They apparently do "refresher" courses aimed at people who already have kids - so you wouldn't be out of place on one of those. Only have the one so not been to one myself.

I didn't know anyone pregnant first time round, so doing NCT enabled me to gain real friendships.

This time I'm pregnant again -and feel like a first-time mum as it was a long time ago I had my dd - and live in a new town. I don't know anyone who is pregnant, so would defo look to do their refresher.

I did NCT for no 1 & no 2. The refresher class for no 2 didn't really gel so I don't see any of them anymore
Didn't bother for no 3
But I am doing it again for no 4 as I don't know anyone else having a baby this time

We have a Mum who already has a 3 year old in our class...she was quite open about saying they'd recently moved to the area and wanted to meet new people and also wanted to get back 'in the zone'. It's nice having her in the class as she can add her own stories...but she's not the type to 'take over' IYSWIM. Go for it!

I was wondering about this too, but didn't see any of the refresher courses for my local. They do have a slightly shorter length course and a normal one too, so might just do the shorter one? For me it would be for my 4th, but a slightly bigger gap this time / my older ones are all at school and I don't know anyone local in the baby stage

Really useful info! My DS is 8 and was born overseas so I totally missed this last time. DP has two kids too but his ex refused antenatal classes so he feels he totally missed out.

Any thoughts on the full classes vs refresher ones? I was looking at a refresher but reading this I'm not so sure now.

Ive just had one class on our programme, one couple has two other children, she wanted to get back to thinking about babies instead of children.
The class is a big one so having someone else who had a baby and had a couple of practicle tips when asked directly was great to me,. At the end of the day many people go to meet others - so, so what if they have kids already.

I did the refresher class for my 2nd DS, who is now 8months, solely to meet the other Mums. Best thing I ever did. There are 7of us, we see each other pretty much every week since the babies were born and have become close very quickly. Since we're all on baby #2 (or more) we have the same requirements for places to meet up that we can also take the toddlers to; the toddlers all play together. We're in a whatsapp group and there's always someone about day and night when you need to chat/vent/rant/ask a stupid question. As well as our standard 'meet up' every thurs, if one if us is at a loose end on whatever day we shout up on whatsapp "I need to get out of house/anyone free to do something this afternoon" invariably someone will be.
My mat leave this time round has been so enjoyable having them there, if you've got the option to do one I wouldn't hesitate.
The course itself did refresh my memory somewhat, but we were all openly there to meet the others so the childbirth info was just an added bonus!
