2nd Pregnancy

I'm almost 35 weeks with baby number two. I've been feeling pretty awful for the last week but have had my mum around who looked after me and DS (13mths) really well so i've sort of been able to get on with it.
I am feeling like i did with DS at 38+, is this because this is my second pregnancy? I had really bad BH (something i didn't have too much of with DS) for a lot of the evening and feeling that the baby is taking away parts of my insides when it moves - the movements can get quite painful and the bladder pressure gets unbearable. I've been taking paracetemol not sure of what else to do. I find it difficult to sit down for too long and even moreso to walk. I spent most of my time at Jamboray y'day watching DS & DH from afar as it hurt too much to walk and i have the same again this morning.
Any experiences? I'm just concerned it's happening all too early. Am hoping that consultant will book me in for elective next Thursday (consultant appt not elective) to put my mind at rest. Thanks. Oh and any tips on getting comfy or what to do with these BH's and movements?

all this sounds quite normal to me. you are prob doing alot more this pg round than last time. i know i got stronger BH 2nd time,i just used them to breathe and tried to get comfy!

have you spd?or had it?i dont have any experience personally but my friend had it mildly and found it hard to walk, and said the pain was in her inner thighs and lower back. she noticed it tons more in her 2nd pg.

there is nothing you can do really about the painful movements-do you mean when they scrape your insides out?!its really uncomfortable, but normal

as for being comfy,i just used lots of pillows and a pg pillow to help me get some sleep and to sit so it didnt hurt.

i think youre entering the uncomfy stage!

good luck

Thank you Scorpio, I think you are right. I am sooooo uncomfortable and yes, i'm doing so much more this pregnancy too. After taking maternity leave at 22wks with DS my day was filled with dreaming of baby, shopping, sleeping, watching movies etc.. very different story now with toddler and lots to do...maybe that's what it is too.

Thanks for the support, felt like a moan and some advice. Cheers

chacha Im 38 weeks and feel the same as you do..! I have a 19 month old toddler to contend with and am finding it hard . I suffer with sciatica and spd so maybe you have a touch of these as well..???

Im so uncomfortable now, wish I could go to bed and sleep but its not worth trying...I have to either turn myself over after and hour or need a wee. Both movements have me on the ceiling with pain. . Roll on the day when I can at least sleep without pain.

Hope these few weeks pass quickly for you

I had really bad BH and aching with DD1 who was my second child. Also found with DD2 that all of a sudden from 36wks all of a sudden everything began to ache and seemed to feel like it did at 42 weeks with Ds.

Hope you get a date soon for c sec and everything is easy going for you.

Thanks girls, turns out that i have severe SPD - would never have thought. Been in hospital for a few days and have been seeing a great physio who has given me a pair of crutches to come home with so that i have some support. Not being able to get to the bathroom that night finally convinced me to call NHS direct who told me to go straight to the delivery suite, now glad that i did
I also got a date for my section so feel a lot more relaxed now. Thank you x
