Help! Advice on moving out 21 weeks PG

Without going into long details, my husband and I have been living in a three bed house for the last three years which his parents bought him ten years ago (they live abroad). His mother has suddenly decided she wants to move back to London before the baby is born. His parents are very difficult to live with - we have them for three months of a year - and have been staying with us and verbally attacking me for the last month.

So here's my question. We have decided we must move out but can only afford a one bedroom flat for the first year. Do we need to tell the letting agents or landlord? We will be looking for a place with think walls and child friendly etc, but only have a month or so to sort this out. Any advice??

You don't have to tell them we didny tell our landlord. We did accidently qualify ourselves for social housing in the process so moved on up that way but our landlady wasnt bothered by baby in a one bed.

Our tenancy specifies that we must ask permission before adding anyone to the household (adult or child) so I checked with the estate agent before we started TTC he told me it was a formality and would not be a problem. However my Mum who used wo work for estate agents and encoraged me to check said some landlords do not allow children full stop as they worry about damage to the property. I can't see it being 1 bed would be a problem as baby will need to sleep in with you to start with anyway and won't need their own room for a few years really.

It depends on the tenancy, one place I've lived stipulated no under 12's were allowed at the property. Others have said no such thing.
