My DS (11) was a tad small @6.8 oz 38 weeks. My DD (8) was 6.5 oz at 40 weeks. Now with new partner - big, tall man and went to growth scan yesterday which I thought would be a bit of a tick box exercise. Turns out this baby is below the 10th centile and I have to go back in two weeks. I'm surprised, worried and feel like my body isn't good at nurturing babies. :( . His head circumference at 28+2 was 254.9mm which was the most 'out' according to the chart I walked away with.

Maybe they take after you!

They probably just take after you.
I was 5.5 , ds1 was 5.12 and ds 2 was 6.4. I just have small babies.

Maybe. I was a month early and about 4lbs and grew into a 5 ft 9 woman. X

Did/do you have to go to growth scans? I've got to now.

Yes for ds2 but just because that is the procedure when you have a small dc1. Neither myself or mw was concerned (same mw both pregnancies) so I just enjoyed the extra scans.

My DD had ano uncommon and serious bowel defect, so I think I associate small baby with something wrong. She was lovely and healthy though and robust with all her surgery.

My DD was 4 weeks early and teeny, only 4lbs 13, below the second centile. She's thriving now though and up to the 9th. Maybe you just make small babies.
