I'm currently 16+3 and away for the weekend in a lovely log cabin . . Complete with hot tub. Temp is set to 38degrees. Their own sign says pregnant women for 10 mins only.

Just wondered what other experiences people had, whether it's more 1st trimester concerns than second?

Can't do clicky link, sorry. Advice is a bit vague, does suggest most risk is in first 12 weeks, highest risk to you is fainting, dizziness, dehydration

I used one later in my first pregnancy but stayed in for short periods and kept my upper body out. The danger is raising your core body temperature not submerging your bump. I'm planning to visit the blue lagoon in Iceland this time and will do the same at about 17 weeks.

I used one for an extended time (40mins?) during my last pregnancy as the temperature was also 38 degrees. I figured you are allowed to lounge in the bath at that temperature, so why not a hot tub? I wouldn't have done it if it was a hotter one.
It was amazing at 38wks preg, even with all the rather drunk ladies I had to share it with (hen weekend)! Just take it easy getting out in case you get a bit dizzy.

We have turned ours down to 37 and ive used it the same amount as before I got pg (didnt use at all between bfp and 12 week scan) and all is well now at 24 weeks

The cautionary advice regarding baths and hot tubs is more about the dangers of raising your overall body temperature than the hot tub/sauna/bath etc.

Use common sense and don't sweat it out for ages, keep yourself hydrated etc.

Your baby is cocooned in a little water bag of safety so just be sensible - using a hot tub for 10-20 Mins or whatever is more than likely absolutely fine.

Running a marathon in the desert - probably not.

Its ok to use the hot tub so long as you don't get too hot and that's unlikely to happen in a 38 degree hot tub. I've experimented before with using the sauna while I was pregnant (used it throughout my pregnancy) - checked my temperature with a digital thermometer before and after a 15 minute sauna session at 80 degrees, my temperature didn't rise at all. You could try doing the same if it'll put your mind at ease.
