I have been to see my G.P. this week to advise him that I am pregnant (first timer). He filled in a form with some basic info which he said will be sent to Hospital who will them contact me for first scan. The G.P. then advised me to ask the receptionist to book me in for my first prenatal appointment. He said this will be when they take urine and blood samples and fill in all the forms. I will be 8+2 on the appointment date, is this too early? from what I have read online and in magazines the appointment for this sort of thing is usually done at 10weeks. I phoned the surgery to query this and the receptionist said it is perfectly normal, they usually recommend this appointment from 8 to 10 weeks. Does this sound correct? This is all new to me.
