After a prem delivery at 29weeks last pregnancy we have been told to have no sex by the consultant. Am now 21 weeks and not looking forward to 5 months of nothing! Does anyone know exact reasons and what may / may not be allowed? I am keen not to risk prem labour but surely we can do some things. Anyone know???
PS - DH may go up the wall if we have none!!

well it could be because if you are trying to go into labour, you exercise, you walk, swim and have sex, if you dont want to go into labour - you dont have sex.

I was told by my consultant about the hormone content in semen. Apparently there is prostoglandin in sperm, which is used in its most pureified form to induce labour, however the content in the semen isnt strong enough - but I wouldnt risk it, just follow your consultants wishes.

you should ask your consultant more about this as its abit hard being told you can't have sex without all the facts and reasons why not.
thats a tough one though! poor you!
