When did your baby turn?

Or didn't s/he?

I'm almost at the 29 week mark and apparently my little Scrunchball is in breech.

Whilst I acknowledge that it's far too early to lose any sleep over this at the moment, I am curious to know when other peoples babies decided to turn into the correct position (if they ever decided to turn at all!)

Did you feel them turn? Is it quite an uncomfortable thing once they have turned? Does it mean that labour is coming soon?

DD turned at about 35 weeks. Then one day at about 37 weeks, I couldn't feel her so much. I happened to have a midwife appt the next day, and she said DD had turned sideways! She went back to head down a few days later (and stayed there until she was born at 40+6), I seem to remember. I didn't really feel it, but by that point I was used to aches and pains! Some people say they found it painful, though.

The first I heard anything about this baby's position was at 30 weeks when I was told he/she is head down, so I don't know when it happened. This was the same at 31 weeks. I'm 32 weeks now and hoping he/she will stay that way!

Oh wow, so they can actually end up turning back to an upright position before birth? Can babies come out legs/bum first, or would the doctors perform a c-section before that could happen?

At my antenatal class the midwife said they would try to do a vaginal delivery with some breech babies if you have had a straightforward delivery before.

I think 2nd, 3rd babies are more likely to be breech near end of pregnancy as womb is stretched and doesn't always hold them in place.

I wouldn't worry about any of this though at 29 weeks, most babies turn around by 36 weeks

36 weeks and I didn't feel a thing as he turned overnight. I went to bed with one shaped bump and it was completely different in the morning with his head nestled on my bladder. He stayed there till he was born at 39 weeks.

Between 36 and 37 weeks, just as I was debating whether or not to go for the manual turning and planning for a section.

Is there anything that you can do to help turn them into the correct position?

39 weeks from breech to head down, 40 weeks from head down to breech. Scans confirmed this, no one was more surprised than my consultant. Moxibustion, handstands in a swimming pool and cleaning the floor on your hands and knees are supposed to encourage turning, have a look at the spinning babies website.
