looking forward to spd again NOT!

So with my last pregnancy (2 years ago) I suffered terribly with spd and was praying that it wouldn't return this time round, but after seeing my midwife last week and telling her my fears she told me that I would in fact get it again with this pregnancy

I just wanted to know if this has happened to anyone else?

Yep I'm now 32 weeks with number 2 and in agony!! Physio appointment next week but don't think I'll be able to go back to work. I think it's more painful this time round but that might be because I can't rest as I now have a 3 yr old to run around after!! Sorry to not be more positive

Not necessarily. I had it with my first. With my second I had back issues but no SPD.
Seek physio help ASAP if you do though.

Yep. Afraid it had kicked in by 5w with my second.

Saw a chiropractor at about 20w though who worked wonders. Better than the physio.

She's referred me to physio again (Just waiting on appointment date) but tbh I went the last time and I found it completely pointless! It did absolutely no difference and I'm thinking I'll just waste my time again, and dragging a 2 year old with me this time round is just gonna be a nightmare!

This is my 5th baby and I'm currently 10+4, I've got the most uncomfortable back pain I've ever experienced and because my last labour was back to back she's adamant I should go, thing is I've never recovered from my last pregnancy, I can't open my legs very wide and my pelvis hurts if I try to Pull them apart! Oh the joys

Not always the case. I had terrible SPD and sciatica with ds2 and 3. So naturally when I fell pregnant with ds4 I was worried, but I only got quite mild pain in comparison to my previous two. I'm now 21 weeks with baby number 5 and so far I haven't got it. Touch wood I don't either.

Not necessarily. Suffered terribly with DC2. Fine with DC3. Both boys, so no difference :)

I had sciatica and moderately uncomfortable SPD from 20 weeks with DC1. Hardly a twinge with DC2. Although the same (not exactly svelte) starting weight, i had done more exercise in between which I wondered if it contributed.

I was worried about this too, especially with a 1 year old who still needs carrying a lot. But to give you hope I had it with first and am currently 27 weeks with second and yet to get it! I think partly because I've been trying to do what I can to avoid it I.e keeping my legs together as much as poss and working on posture like physio told me last time. Good luck, I hope it keeps at bay for you.

I'm friends with a woman who specialises in physio for women. I called her up in tears during my last pregnancy and she came over the next day. I think she might be a witch. While she was examining me I felt a pop and within a couple of days I felt so much better. I try to recommend her whenever I can, so if you are anywhere near northants PM me. :)
