Sitting/laying on a beach at 7-8 months pregnant

We go on holiday when I will be 28 weeks. We have 3.5yo DS and all he will want to do is play on the beach which is lovely...but I already have chronic backache at just 18 weeks so I am worried that sitting/laying on the beach will cripple me! What do people think the best solution will be? Laying on an airbed? Sitting on a folding chair? Something else I haven't thought of? We are driving so we can take things in car (sadly think my 6foot pregnancy pillow might be pushing it though!)

TIA

I'm 30 weeks and I can't lie on my back in bed, so would find it impossible to lie comfortably on a beach. I'd have to be on some kind of folding chair or lounger I think.

Dig a hole for your belly to drop into and lie on your front!!

God, I miss lying on my front right now!

I have no advice about lying on the beach but just wanted to say be really careful with your skin in the sun, some people burn a lot easier and skin can totally change during pregnancy.

Best wishes and hope you have a great holiday.

One of these Lamzac jobbies?

Whether you'd be able to get up out of it again is probably debatable, but it looks comfy!

Agreeing with someone else about not being able to lie on my back at all from about 25 weeks. I'm 33 weeks now and even find I can't lie in the bath-I need to be fully upright!

I'm sure you get pregnancy lilos- they have a belly hole in them! I'm sure I've seen pics of them.

A pregnancy lilo would be fab! Great ideas, im currently looking online for an adult size inflatable chair as I think that might be comfiest. Theres loads for kids but I need one that will accommodate my arse bump.Grin

Yep, dig a hole in the sand and lie on your front.

You need to be careful not to get overheated - when you are that pregnant you overheat more easily as you have 2 people's worth of metabolism energy. You may need a parasol stand or something else to give you some shade.

I got a holo! I got it off a FB selling group for mums in my local area - worth having a look on a similar group for your area/ebay/gumtree etc to see if you can get one second hand?

Just wanted to share advice from my yoga teacher, she says it's not good for the positioning of the baby to be in a laid back position as if in a deck chair, so I'd avoid that type of chair xx

Anyone got a holo lilo they want to sell?
