Bleeding at 5 weeks, just under

Found out last week that I was pregnant!
Last period was 12 March so am 5 weeks tomorrow.

I started spotting pink yesterday and today its more red. I'm really worried I'm m/c
but I know people in my family who have had periods whilst pregnant.... I spoke to midwife and can't scan till 6 weeks. So contact her again if still spotting next week. And contact gp if bleeding... I'm calling gp in the morning.

After some advice as not sure what is going on, it's my first pregnancy. My cousin just lost hers at 20 weeks. And I'm freaking out. Really hope I don't loose this baby

You could pay for a private scan or ask your go do to blood tests to monitor your hcg

Red blood is fresh blood
Had you just had sex or anything bleeding after sex is common

Nope no sex. Did half hour on a excercise bike day before it started.... Nothing too hard though x

Hill I'm in the same boat, about 5+4 weeks pregnant and have had bleeding for past couple of days, not too much but enough to concern me. But I'm hoping it's ok as I bled quite a bit from weeks 5-9 with my last pregnancy and have a bouncing 18 mth old DS - there are lots of success stories from early pregnancy bleeding, don't worry too much just yet.
I'm going to go to an early pregnancy unit next week if still bleeding and see if they can do a scan - I thought not much point going until they will see a heartbeat (around 6 weeks), which will reassure me. Hopefully your midwife can give you a scan when you're 6 weeks - I would definitely ask for one if you can, whether or not you're still bleeding next week. Put your mind at rest.

I'm officially 5 today so got a week to wait for scan. Doctor will book it when she calls on Tuesday to see how I am. X

Had a heavier Spott/bleed with tiny specs of clotting. Still no cramps. Hoping it's breakthrough bleeding x

I am very sorry if that is the case, take paracetamol and cry when you need to, a miscarriage can be devastating so be kind to yourself x

In no pain at all and wasn't that heavy. I'm stumped. I knew it could have been a possibility but hoped it wasn't. Still waiting for results from bloods and a chat with doctors tomorrow. But I'm sure it's gone

I had bleeding at 5 weeks, mainly bright red, more than what I would call spotting (more like gushing) and no cramps and I'm now at 26 weeks. Hope all is ok for you. Big hugs.

Self employed to working but it's with dogs so cuddles are in order. I'm more devastated than I'm letting on to people. I got to be strong. My cousin just lost hers at 21 weeks so the focus is on getting her through that. Not that she's talked to me since I found out I was pregnant.... X
