Pain in chest - indigestion?

I am only about 5- 6 weeks pg. I had terrible trapped wind yesterday, and all night i had a funny crampy pain in my chest, between my boobs but a little lower. I have never had heartburn so i dont know what that feels like, dp says it doesnt sound like heartburn. I feel strange in my back too, around the same level as my boobs. Is it just wind and indigestion or should i get it checked??

I would say it sounds like indegestion type trapped wind typr thing. everyone feels it slightly differently. But of course if your gut instinct makes you feel it needs checking then don't hesitate

oh and congratulations

I had this when I was pregnant too and thought I was having some kind of angina attack, it hurt so much.

This is going to sound really weird but can you force a couple of burps? My husband suggested it at the time and after I stifled the urge to lamp him one, I tried it and the pain subsided. You have to do a few - I'm quite the expert now

I think maybe you should give your midwife a quick call anyway just to reassure yourself..

Feel better xx

I get this too. Also never had heartburn, so don't know what it feels like! I'm 21 weeks and am still living and breathing so my guess is indigestion as well.

I've started getting this too - my first occasion was on Christmas Day (and I put that down to eating lots of chocolates whilst lying on the sofa!!). It feels (for me) as if somebody has put a metal plate right through me, just under my boobs and through to my back. SO uncomfortable. Gaviscon, a hot water bottle, time, and some paracetomol to ease the pain and help me sleep seem to be the only things that shift it for me.

I remember getting this too really early on and everyone looked at me a bit gone out. No idea what it was but Rennies seemed to help a bit although I'm not convinced it was indigestion.

Got some really wierd and wonderful pains early on (up to about 20 weeks) which I worried about each and every one.

Just got some gaviscon and it seems to have eased!
thanks for your replies people!! I'm sure i'll have more panicky questions!

I had this was definitely indigestion and gaviscon helped.

BTW you can get it free on prescription from your GP when you are pregnant.
