Evening all!
Can anyone give me any tips/advice on what you have done with your beloved pets when the big day arrives?

I'm planning on giving neighbour a spare key in case of emergency to nip in and feed dog , let out for loo etc.

I can rely on a few family members depending on if they are in work etc

Help please ! Xxx

We did the same, gave a neighbour a spare key and when we went to hospital, the neighbour came round and kept ddog company, gave her food, and cuddles. Once baby was born, dh took the first clothes she wore and took them home for ddog to smell, get her used to baby's scent.

I worried about ddog loads, but had a short labour, so was fine. If you're worried about a long labour, maybe start with a dog walker now who could come in and take the dog out during the day whilst you are in labour?

Good luck, I understand your worry, but she'll be fine. Dogs are very adaptable.

Thank you both Smile

I will see the vet and enquire about dog walkers/sitters. Didn't think of that.

It is a worry, she is hardly on her own. Fingers crossed for short labour Hmm

We're only very early days (5 weeks) but this is giving me something to think about as well...

My 2 little dogs are pretty spoilt but also well behaved. We'll have to change sleeping arrangements (they sleep at our feet) and we'll need to get them accustomed to the sound of a baby (right now YouTube vids of crying make them startle) as well as the smell.

Come labour time... I was kinda hoping for my in-laws not to know that the baby is coming (they're more than a little overbearing) so we'll have to ask our neighbours or something... hmmm..
