I'm about 22 weeks with my third baby. I had spd with ds2 from about 28 weeks and although very painful, it was manageable. I had a noemal delivery and no pain after. in fact the spd pain got a bit better in the very late stages of pregnancy.

This time I am worried. I feel the pain in the sacrum area and feel most pain in my back when sitting, walking and seporating my legs. The pain is getting really intense now, this weekend it was agonising.

I'm worried because it is so noticably getting worse. i have been to a physio (no funding for treatment apparently) and I am having chiropractic treatment for it.

What I am desperate to know is, in your experience does it always get worse? or might I be having a bit of a surge in the hormones being released? therefore causing more pain now... -I am hoping it's the latter option but I think it's just wishful thinking.

I'm so desperate for it to not get any worse, I have a long way to go really and if it keeps getting worse at this rate, I'm not going to be able to stand it.

Something positive for you! I had SPD in all 3 of my pregnancies and now again in my 4th. Mine started much earlier at around 6 wks this time, but always resolves at around 30 wks for some weird reason. I have heard that acupuncture might help and I should be getting some from a midwife here who is trained in acupuncture. she says about 5 or 6 sessions should help. Might be worth a try.
