Possible ectopic

At EPU to rule out ectopic pregnancy, was referred at booking appointment. Have previously had MMC. They have said they will do an abdominal so won't be seeing baby's heartbeat if everything is placed OK and wondering if I should ask for a transvaginal to confirm everything is alright.

Worried that would be wasting their time a bit though.

How many weeks are you? Had something similar recently at 6 weeks. They did normal ultrasound and heartbeat was seen, in the right place etc, but they wanted to do an internal too to get clearer view. I thought it was fairly common for an internal early in pregnancy.
