bleeding after sex???

i just wanted to know just how common it was to bleed after intercourse.

i am 35 + 4 weeks pregnant and bled after intercourse. it hasnt happened to me before and i wondered if any of you had experienced it

I bled a couple of times when pregnant - usually after doing some thing strenuous.

I would call your MW - just for some reasurance , you feeling ok apart from that?

yeah i feel fine it wasnt clots just in with his sperm (TMI) like red / pink streaks. read somewhere about cervical erosion. mite be that just that it hasnt happened after sex before.

i ditto the thought about cervical erosion. it prob is happening now because youre quite far gone, and your cervix will be 'riping up'!

also cervical polyps can cause this. they are little fleshy growths that are harmless on the cervix, that when 'disturbed' (hee hee!) can do this. ring midwife to be reassured

bubblebell - exactly the same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago (I'm 38+3 weeks). I saw the midwife the next day and she told me that I only needed to worry if there was new, bright red blood - otherwise, it's probably just cervical erosion and nothing to worry about.

But if you're still bleeding, or worried, I'd say see your midwife - they can arrange for a scan to make sure everything's OK.
