Hello MNers, I have been lurking for a while now but have searched past threads and can't find what I need - I hope that one of you might be able to help. I am 32 weeks pregnant and have been suffering severe heartburn - I have been recommended papaya capsules as the taste and smell of Gaviscon is making me gag I have had so much of it!
When I went to buy some today the man in the shop said that he wasn't sure if it was OK for pregnant women or not - has anyone else tried these, I am desperate to take one but now a little nervous.

Hi Barnesy,

I'm 33 weeks pregnant and had been suffering with terrible heartburn too. Unfortunately, nothing helped this pregnancy (and i tried most of what i could) except for some ranitidine tablets the GP prescribed me.
Hearburn is awful and I do hope you feel better soon, sorry i can't give any advice on the capsules - could you ask your GP/MW or do a search?

Best of luck.

I will report back tomorrow if these tablets are safe or not...
