Should I be worried?

I'm 8+4 with first pregnancy and pretty anxious. Had an early scan at the weekend and measured 7+1 instead of 7+6 but saw the heartbeat and everything was perfect.

Since last night I've had some cramps/twinges buy no bleeding/spotting. My only symptoms so far have been tiredness and sore nipples/breasts. Today my nipples/breasts have felt a lot less tender and I'm now convinced something is going wrong.

Any advice? Feels a bit premature to call epu but having never gone through this before or know what to expect I'm a bit nervous.

I got quite a few cramps and twinges in the early days. Now 28 weeks pregnant and debating whether I have a boxer in my belly! Maybe give your midwife a call (or GP if you haven't been assigned a midwife yet) if you're concerned

Try not to worry. I had a lot of minor cramping and drove myself mad worrying about my symptoms coming and going. Remember that you get symptoms as your hormones change. Your body adjusts to the hormones and so you don't feel the symptoms anymore.

From what you've said you don't need to worry, but if the cramping gets bad or if you need some peace of mind just call your midwife. That's what they're there for and it always feels better to have reassurance :)

Cramps are very common in early pregnancy due to uterus stretching and changing. In both my pregnancies I had cramping before 12 weeks. Don't be afraid to call EPU for reassurance though.

I've called epu and just waiting on a midwife calling back to give me advice or arrange an appointment.

I'm hopeful everything is okay but just want to be on the safe side.

I had loads of cramps in early weeks too, and was worried the same, I'm now 25 weeks and like the previous post have a little man doing star jumps in there

They just phoned. I've got an appointment with epu at 2pm. Midwife said all sounds normal but they will check everything is okay.

What normally happens at these appointments? Are they likely to scan me?

I had awful cramping at the beginning of my pregnancy, don't forget that as your baby grows your uterus needs to stretch and expand and this hurts from time to time.
Pregnancy isn't a pain free experience

I'm now 36 weeks and am having my baby next Friday by C-section.

So just back from epu and hugely relieved! Had abdominal scan and everything is great, strong heartbeat and measuring a day ahead.

She could see the little pocket where spotting was coming from and said I night get some bleeding in the next 48hrs but not to worry as it should settle down. If it doesn't or I'm worried I've just to phone back and they will see me again.

Glad you got good news. And you've only got another 32 weeks of pregnancy worrying and then a whole lifetime after that!

I got cramps and twinges (and some spotting early on) and apparent loss of all symptoms at 10 weeks- I was in a tail spin. That was with dd2 - who is now 14 months old and currently running around the lounge squealing!
