Childcare problem for labour- Mum asked to go on jury duty!

My Mum, who will be having my DS when I am in labour, has been asked to go on jury duty for 2 weeks (finishing a week before my due date).

Now I am worried Jury duty may run over. She was going to have DS for a week too.

I have another relative I can rely on. But still, they won't be able to have DS for any length of time should I have have to stay in hospital, hence why I need my mum about.

Not sure anything can be done about this tho Confused

I think she needs to contact them and spell it out. They are very understanding (in my experience) and will either give a deferral or ensure she's put forward for short cases.

She should be able to defer for a few weeks. When I was called the date they gave me coincided with a major project at work, I requested a deferral and the gave me a date six weeks later.

Thanks! Will speak to her about it, hopefully they can defer it
