tummy changed shape & feel at 25 weeks????????????

dear folks - a really strange thing happened tonight. my bump which was coming along nicely at 25 weeks and felt quite "hard" and high up has gone soft and appears to have reduced in size? does any of you have a clue what or why this is?? this first timer is now a bit worried as to where the bean and her bump have hone??

It could just be that the baby has changed position - possibly turned so that his back is towards your back (and only legs and arms in front). This happened to a friend quite late on and she said her bump shrank a lot.
I expect some more knowledgeable person will be along soon...

IME, my baby has been so active throughout the pregnancy that my belly has chnaged shape on a daily basis - and I mean drastically change shape! BTW£, I'm 37 weeks at the moment.

It's been low, high, hard, soft, bigger on one side than the other, square-ish - basically, every shape under the sun.

It really does depend on how the baby is lying. The strangest shapes were when baby was back to back with me, very soft belly with hands and feet sticking out making my belly look as if it had 4 corners and when the baby was lying transversely with his head on the right and feet on the left so my belly looked square.

I can also tell that my belly has chamged shape by my belly button. Some days it's non existent and other days it's quite deep.

Just out of interest, do you feel the baby moving a lot? This is probably the reason for the change in shape if you do.

thanks for the helpful advice folks. i am a bit of a worrier and this baby hasnt been the most active to date anyhow - i think it just freaked me a bit. i have a mw appt on wednesday so will be checking with her tho.
