Has anyone declined blood thinners in pregnancy?

I have three risk factors for VTE so they want me to self inject blood thinners daily from 28 weeks
The guidelines say "consider" giving blood thinners but there doesn't appear to be any consideration - it's just automatic

Has anyone declined this?

I did after DD3 and had a stroke, consequently I took them religiously during my last pregnancy and for the 6 weeks after.
Having a stroke was really, really shit.
My only risk re DD3 was my mum had a VTE during or after one of her pregnancies so I didn't think I really needed to bother. I was wrong!
