3rd baby
First two labours were fast under 1hr from noticing labour to delivery
dd was 15 days early.
She was average for dates
this baby is large for dates I may possibly gestational diabetes as well.
I am planning a homebirth
EDD is 23/3
DP is booked to be way for 5 nights and days 200 miles away from 26 Feb-2 March
I expressed a mild alarm but he says I'm being silly.
Just to clarify am I?

dh went away on business 3 weeks before my dd2's EDD. I gave birth the day he got back after, even collected him from the airport that morning!
Midwive was v sympathetic to him, gave him 3 chairs and a couple of pillows .. 'ahh he's jetlagged'!!
One of my friends had to give birth at home, as her dh had gone airport and he couldn't get back in time.
hope all goes well

who would it bother more if he did miss it all??

TBH, if my Dh didn't wantto be there I wouldn't mind so if he was away in the weeks running up to the birth it wouldn't bother me.

Sorry, thats not really much help is it....

Does he absolutly have to go?

LupinsBigLump · 06/01/2007 20:11

I wouldnt let my dp go, as it is he wanted to go to isle of man - same month as due and he has agreed it may be cutting it fine as dd was 5wks early

Hope it all works out,

Well if he is not here then quite possibly I will give birth alone or with my 13 yr old son taking charge
Closest Midwife lives 20 - 45 mins away depending on time of day (traffic)
I'm not that bothered whether it is him or my mother but my mum will be working in Bristol (I'm in Lincs) so options are limited
It's purely a work thingy, reasonably important in work terms but not unmissable by any stretch
