Hi all

Am booked in for a c section in 2 wks. Have bought some arnica today (30 strength) but no sure when I take it and will midwives be funny about me taking it?

Do I take it in recovery or before op and for how long afterwards -and do you all reckon it makes any difference?

I had a terrible painful recovery from my first c section and will do anything to avoid going through that again.

Thanks

i used it with my second section - did not know about it first time round. I started taking it as soon as I got to the ward/room after the surgery but I think some others took it before. I had no problem with the midwives - in fact don't think I even told them I was taking it.

I am sure it made a difference - 1st time round - home in 5 days but babe had to stay in hospital for another two weeks or so - so really had nothing to do but sit beside her cot whilst she was in SCBU and then did nothing at home but rest and it took me the full six weeks to feel better as such.

2nd time round - had a 2 1/2 yo who has special needs - not walking, had no one at home to help - dh had started a new job and no family to help - was fine within three weeks was back driving and lifting dd1 etc. Differences - took arnica.

Am due for third section in Mar and already have the arnica for hospital bag.
