No midwife app between 31-38 weeks

Hi

Have realised that I won't have a midwife appointment between 31-38 weeks. This is my 2nd pregnancy. Is this normal? The nhs website seems to think you should have one at 34,36,38 weeks. Should I call my midwife and ask for extra appointments?
It just seems an awfully long time to go without seeing anyone, for example what happens if at 38 weeks they find the baby is breech? It leaves very little time to get scans/turn baby etc.

Hmmm I had a GP appoinment in the meantime I think, are you sure you're not meant to book your own at eg 36 weeks? What does it say on the timeline in your big maternity notes book?

No we don't book our own, midwife booked the 38 weeks one at my last appointment and wrote the date in my notes.

I'm in my 2nd pregnancy and I have seen the midwife 31weeks, 34, 36 & 38 then I'm now booked in for when I'm 40 weeks. I'm not high risk or anything X

Def not right I am 37 wks preg baby six and saw midwife at 30, 34 and 36 wks next app at 38wks.

I am classed as low risk Ok to deliver at midwife led unit and having very boring straightforward pregnancy.

I mean my care was split between GP and midwife. There must be a timeline in your maternity notes?

Nope no timeline, I'm with a different hospital this time. In my last notes it had a page for each midwife visit and said what week it would be. This one is just a few pages of lined paper to jot notes on. I haven't had a GP involved in either pregnancy.

Does it really vary that much from area to area? Seems strange if so - I'm in London and my book says I should have appointments at 28,31,34,36 and 38 weeks. Only the 31 week appointment (plus a later one at 40 wks) is shown as "1st pregnancy only" and the 34 & 38 week ones are with the GP (so I had to book it myself), all others are midwife appointments.

It seems it must differ, I've never heard of anyone around here having split midwife/gp care. I guess a lot might be to do with cost cutting/lack of midwives? Maybe my area just can't afford as many midwife checks which would be worrying if so. Hopefully the midwife just got it wrong? Will ring Monday and check.
