Worried gender scan is wrong! Help!

Hi all, so I'm 37 weeks pregnant and keep panicking that my gender scan is wrong. I had a private gender scan at 20 weeks after my baby wouldn't cooperate at the nhs scan. They told me she is a girl and I have since bought loads of pink clothes! Can anyone tell me whether these pictures definitely look like a girl? I had my scan at baby bond. Thank you!

Well I can't see any 'boy bits' in your scan picture. I'm currently of with my second boy and both times it's been very obvious! I'm not a sonographer though!
I'm sure a boy wouldn't mind wearing pink clothes though Smile

SamanthaBrique · 09/03/2016 17:31

Oh no! Pink clothes on a boy? If only he were a baby and had no idea what colour clothes he was wearing... Oh wait...

butterflylove16 · 09/03/2016 17:35

I have this concern as well - at our 20 week scan we were told a girl, but she said baby wasn't really in the best position. I wouldn't mind if we had a boy at all, as whatever we have will be a blessing, but Dh and I call baby by 'her' name and I feel like I've bonded with a little girl. I have also bought lots of pink things and girly outfits, but have kept the reciepts and bought more neutral clothing too. We have a 3d/4d scan booked at the beginning of April though, so should hopefully have it more confirmed then.

Impossible to be 100% sure but that does look like a girl. I was told my baby is a boy and its quite obvious and very different from your picture. I attach it here for comparison.

I'm another one who was told I was having a girl and had a boy!

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 09/03/2016 18:11

I was supposed to be a boy. Four private scans to make sure, as well as three NHS scans (mum had MH issues that meant she needed to get her head around this and it was judged in her best interests for them to be sure).

I'm a girl. They were devastated. They tried to register me with a male name and dressed me up in boys clothes. They changed my gender on my charts. It's sad :(

Unfortunately, none of us were boys in the end, although the others were all identified as girls during gender scans.

The sonographer's opinio, based on a moving image and professional expertise, is going to be far more reliable than some random people looking at a screen grab on a forum!

3boys3dogshelp · 09/03/2016 18:20

Looks like a girl to me op (Disclaimer: I scan animals not people)

Abbynk94 · 09/03/2016 21:06

Congratulations on your second boy :) yeah I've heard they're quite obvious!

Yeah I know exactly what you mean! I feel like I've bonded with a girl but again I would be happy either way, It sounds like girls like to hide haha! Hope your scan goes well and you get some reassurance!

Seems a lot more common than I first thought! But like people say it's never 100%

We're having a boy and he was obviously a boy from the scan.
If you're uncertain just get another scan to make you happier :)

kiki22 · 10/03/2016 14:30

My baby bond scan was correct. They are doing a just gender for £35 just now I've just booked one or call back and ask of they can have a second look at the pictures.

Abbynk94 · 10/03/2016 15:07

Ah that's great thank you for your advice!

I think girl - the first pic clearly shows the "hamburger" labia

Congrats!

Fuzz01 · 13/03/2016 10:15

Its a girl, same image i had with my DD.

Lostmyemailaddress · 13/03/2016 10:21

The first pic definitely looks like the pics from both my dds. We didn't really have to look far with my boys they were all tugging their penis's during the scan Hmm

Lilipot15 · 13/03/2016 10:32

I don't think your child will thank you for putting those photos online for all to see.
I hope whether boy or girl you have a safe delivery and a healthy baby.

DropYourSword · 13/03/2016 10:41

I don't think the child would give a flying fig Lilipot15 Hmm

MadameJosephine · 13/03/2016 10:45

Hi OP, I'm a sonographer and although no scan can be 100% certain that looks like a girl to me

NeedACleverNN · 13/03/2016 11:57

I've had one of each and both have been obvious from the scans.

Completely in your face as a no way could you miss the balls on the boy and the Minnie on a girl.

To me that does look like a girl with the bit just in front as the umbilical cord

I could be wrong but I would be surprised if it was a boy

GoingLoopyQuickly · 13/03/2016 22:46

Pink is just a colour a baby boy will be happy with love either way. Having said that I am not a fan of pink so if I have a girl it is unlikely I will be making a beeline for pink and certainly won't be painting anything that colour. I wouldn't panic. I would exchange the clothes (so many other colours in the world) or dress a boy in pink. He won't "catch the gay" and certainly won't be bothered by it. My boy quite often pick pink over other colours and he is fine.

Chances are the scan was right and you are panicking over something so unimportant in the grand scheme of things. But you will meet the little monkey soon and this will be a blur of a memory

ExasperatedAlmostAlways · 13/03/2016 22:50

yip looks like a girl for sure! iv had two girls and a boy. And looks the same as my girls definitely.
