Hello ladies currently 5+5 being a first time mum I was wandering when did you start to see a change in belly shape? I'm a size 12 with a pear shape. Just curious of when things start changing apart from my increase in boobs Smile

Hey. I am at exactly 5 weeks and was wondering the same. Although my belly parts are a bit swollen already. Good luckSmile

Im 23+5 and would say I've only developed a proper bump in the past week or so. From 18 weeks I looked fat but not obviously pregnant

PetrovaFossil1 · 09/03/2016 01:28

I looked pregnant from about weeks 9-13 but it was just bloating (nice!). That went away and I didn't get a proper bump until 22 ish weeks and even then it was small.

This all sounds quite positive!! There's hope for my old clothes yet Wink

With my DD I didn't have any hint of a bump until 24/25 weeks! But I'm 7+4 with number two at the moment, and look very bloated! I had two friends ask me "are you pregant again?!" Yesterday Blush

Junosmum · 09/03/2016 08:02

I was really bloated until about 12 weeks them went back to normal. I was in all my normal clothes until 17 weeks and in my roomier ones until 22 weeks when I had to wear maternity trousers. I had a noticeable bump from around 24 weeks.

Wellthen · 09/03/2016 10:00

Bloated the whole of the first trimester but no actual bump. About 16/17 weeks I had a noticeable swelling that wasn't bloat but I could hide it if wanted. People who knew I was pregnant commented on it but looking back on pictures, I wouldn't describe it as bump!

Bump popped out about 20 weeks and started to look more baby bump like (round, forward not just sideways). People really started to comment around 22 weeks and comment that I'm 'really big!'....i'm not, by anyone standards!

I desperately wanted a bump through the first trimester and now its hear I can't believe how much bigger I'm going to get! Its amazing but a little scary!

CityMole · 09/03/2016 10:09

started to get a bit of a swell at around 22 weeks and then BOOM at 26 weeks- BUMP.

UI was a bridesmaid at 21 weeks and just wore a normal dress.

having said that, I went on holiday at 8 weeks pregnant and although I'm sure I looked not very different, I felt bloated and chubby because of constipation. I think I looked thinner in my second trimester!

BunchOfBobs · 09/03/2016 12:22

This is my first pregnancy, I'm 17+4 and have been showing since 14 weeks or so. I'm a size 8 and midwife says that would account for early showing. I love my bump but was in denial for ages about it "it's just bloat". It can't be as it doesn't change shape or size any point in the day and I'm up a few times in the night for a wee. I always check bump is still there SmileThis was me yesterday.

Beautiful bump BunchofBobs.
Well done.

CityMole · 09/03/2016 13:42

That's a lovely bump, Bunch! I'm, a size 8 too, and I was getting a wee bit concerned about lack of bump to be honest, but I have a retroverted uterus, so I think the baby carried very much 'tucked in' by my spine for ages, until one day he reached a critical mass where the weight of him tipped it all forward. I literally woke up one morning and it had all sprung forward and BAM- six months worth of baby right there Grin

BunchOfBobs · 09/03/2016 13:51

Thank you. Wow that must have been a shock that morning city!

Hi Bunch! Your bump is lovely - very neat! I'm going to start taking a picture of mine once a week so will do it when i hit 16 weeks and post it on the grad thread.

BunchOfBobs · 09/03/2016 20:00

Thanks Pink. We've been trying to take a photo once a week since week 10 but have only managed once a fortnight until last week, was just rubbish at remembering. It's a good way to see the difference, I take one stood in the same place in the same clothes every time.
