I am worried I could be pregnant dispite having a coil fitted. I just feel pregnant. Any body know if this is possible? The threads are still there.

A friend of mine conceived her 3rd child with a coil in so yes it is possible.

lulumama · 02/01/2007 22:34

possibly ......highly unlikely as it is very effective contraception, but possible
do a test and see a doc asap if positive
remember, periods can be very light and stop with a mirena coil, so not having a period or only a light one is not a sign by itself,..

oh nasda am going through the same worry, although i don't feel pregnant I have definately missed a period which have always been light on the coil but have never really disappeared completely. What about periods have you missed one?

Nadsa · 02/01/2007 22:40

I still haven't had a period since the birth of my DD 8 months ago. But I feel so sick and tired and puffy.

It's not a Mirena coil - just a noromal one with no hormones

get a test, i have instinctively known when i am pregnant, thats why i'm not too worried now. either way it will put your mind at rest.

Lilliput · 03/01/2007 18:01

have you done a test yet?

SpaceCadet · 03/01/2007 18:04

do a test.
my dd2 was conceived with a coil in, my period was due and i had pregnancy symptoms even though i had a coil in, i knew i was pregnant..shes now 2.5.
if you get a positive test go to your gp straight away as there is a higher incidence of ectopic pregnancy with a coil in place

Nadsa · 05/01/2007 16:18

Haven't done test - too scared it will be positive. but feel sick as a dog and have been preganant 4 times so i know how it feels. Don't think i could cope! But after what you said about eptopic i think I'll do a test tomorrow
