Hi all,

Dh has bought me a spa package for mothersday and I've just been in the site and it says not recommended during pregnancy Sad

Just did a quick google and there is some conflicting advice.

Any experience of this?

I had one at 15 weeks and was fine! I didn't tell the massage people I was pregnant though! How far along are you?

Hi mellow I'm only five weeks. More of the advice on 1st trimester was against it 😩

Most places won't do massage until second trimester. It'd also not reccomended to use sauna or steam rooms.

You could still hav a facial, manicure, pedicure etc

Utter rubbish.

Ring the spa and ask to book in with a therapist that is trained in massaging pregnant women.

I had one and they did my back and shoulders, feet and arms. Was lovely. She stayed away from tummy and was light on my lower back.

I'm a beauty therapist I wouldn't give a massage in the first 14 weeks weeks at all but I would happily recieve one. I would phone and ask if they are willing to do it if not I think you should respect the therapist isn't comfortable doing it, not telling them is really unfair they need to know incase your blood pressure is effected etc, you could ask to rebook another time or skip the massage part and take the other parts.

I had physio massage in the first trimester (weekly 10 - 18) - lying on my front for 45 mins, was fine.
