Does anyone know if it is safe during pregnancy? If not then why?

Thanks

Yes it is but your hair can give unpredictable results that's all.

Head on shoulders, baby near arse and all that.

yes safe

maretta · 01/01/2007 21:54

It's safe but I always seem to end up with orange rather than blonde.

I did, and NHS direct think it is ok too. With highlights the chemicals don't even touch your scalp.
I would caution you, however, against "hair lunacy", a hormonal condition that only affects pregnant women and makes them think that a poodle perm/purple highlights/any other aberation which they would never ordinarily consider is a fabulous idea!

Ok i think i'll go for it then. Thanks everyone.

Just got to convince DH to part with the money for it now

I researched it and was told that years ago the chemicals were very harsh and they were thought to be harmful to the baby. A colourist I spoke to said that the colour used in permanent colourings these days does pass through the placenta but is pee'd out very quickly and is not harmful to the baby.

Go for it!

YES you can get your hair coloured but would reccomend you go for highlights rather than a full head.

should be fine aslong as colour doesnt touch the scalp
