4D SCANS - how many weeks? Recommendations for West Yorks?

Hi,

Dh and I really want a 4D scan - have seen pics on internet and they look great! Am only 18 weeks but trying to get organised early!
Has anyone had a 4D scan, how mnay weeks were you? What is the optimum time for the best results?

Does anyone have any recommendations for places that offer 4D scans? Pref in the West Yorkshire area although we are fairly close to the M62 so could jump across the pennines to manchester if need be.

Thanks in advance

hello, my and my partner are going for a 4D scan in a week or so and I will be about 28 weeks then.
When I phoned them they said that the best time to have one is around 26 - 32 weeks as this gives the best view.
I'm having mine in Kent so can't recommend one your way I'm afraid!

Hi - this is one in Leeds (just 5 mins out of Leeds City Centre. Hope it goes well. I booked mine with them but had to cancel at last minute due to my unborn giving me greif before he came out!!

I had one with my DD. Recommendation was to have it at 28-32 weeks for optimum pics. Mine was in Herts, so no use to you I'm afraid!

I went to Babybond near Manchester & thought it was good, although there are quite a few places around Manchester that do it. I was 24 weeks which I think is the minimum number of weeks they recommended to have the scan. It was good but the baby looked quite skinny as they don't have much fat at that stage so probably a few weeks later it would look more like a cute baby.

Daisypops · 01/01/2007 22:35

I was going to suggest leeds screening centre, not been but its the only one I know in west yorks.

Orchide · 01/01/2007 23:07

Well the leeds screening centre seems a popular choice...either its really good or the only one around!

Indigoblue - babybond appeared on my search, evidently one in leeds is coming soon...i guess it just depends how soon!!

Another question......for the ladies who have had a scan, if fr whatever reason the baby cant be seen clearly were you offered an alternative or was it just 'unlucky'?!
