I went for a scan at 28 weeks at the hospital and everything seemed normal my consultant said everything was fine then went for a private 4d scan 3 days later and they said that baby was small!! I know he's got to put lots of weight on now and gain his puppy fat!! Surely the hospital would have said if he was small?! This is my first baby and I'm slightly confused! I'm a big lady anyway so I don't have much of a bump. Is it worth me speaking to the midwife about it? Sorry if none of this made sense!

When they said 'small' could they have just meant it as in 'don't worry you're not going to be pushing out a 9lb-er?' I never had private scan so not sure how 'medical' they are, but I'd have thought if it was showing small enough for it to potentially be a problem it would have been picked up at the hospital scan

Maybe just talk to midwife for reassurance .... I'm sure if they had any concerns they would of said. All my babies have been small so I'm sure there is absolutely nothing to worry about .

Had a flip through my hospital notes and looking at the charts they printed he's doing ok! Have made an appointment with midwife just to have a chat! I'm not a great eater and my mum has been nagging me telling me I should be eating more than I do! My DH is not a big guy and is quite slender so I'm just hoping baby takes after him! (I'm built like a rugby playerBlush)!!
