Waters have gone - what to expect?

My waters went about an hour ago. I called the hospital who said call at 8:30 but would be interested in the what happens between now and baby arriving?

How long after your waters broke did you have a baby with you?

First pregnancy and pooping my pants a bit right now

Thank you for your help. 2 sets of waters have gone today which is new to me but midwife expected. No signs of a contraction yet.

Booked in to be induced at 10am tomorrow which is exciting and scary.

Thank you everythingsisgettingbigger I have see you on a few threads also. I just can't wait to see what he or she looks like.

Everybody is different OP, it could be many hours or just a few.

Both my labours have started with waters breaking. The first time it was nearly three days before my DD was born - I was under some pressure from the hospital to let them induce me via a drip after 24 hours, but I decided not to do this.

The second time around, everything went much faster and ds was born about 8 hours later.

About 31 hours from waters breaking to baby here. There was blood in them though so I had to go straight to hospital to be monitored. I went into labour more or less straight away but after 24 hours it hadn't progressed so needed to he augmented with the drip and he arrived safely 6-7 hours later. Good luck!

Sepa, I had the same. Waters went on Thursday night. No contractions. Was induced Saturday morning. It didn't work out for me. I ended up having a section. It was fine though! You are very close to having your baby now whatever happens. The birth bit matters not at all within a week or two so just stay focused on that. 'My baby will be here soon.' Good luck!!
