Lots of Orange discharge?!

Sorry in advance for the TMI!

I've been having loads of orange discharge for a few days now. To the point where I'm having to change panty liners 2/3 times a day.

I saw the midwife today, and she said it could possibly be my waters leaking, but didn't seem too concerned, but now I'm worrying the more I think about it!

I'm 27+2 so really don't want it to be my waters yet. It's quite thick and smells very sweet, I've had swabs done and they've all come back clear, so it isn't an infection.

Is orange discharge normal?!

I'm no expert but no.I really don't think orange is normal! Creamy discharge with a very slight yellowish tinge is normal.

Quite shocked tbh that your midwife said it could be your waters leaking but yet wasn't concerned. Can you see a different one?

hadn't thought about seeing another one, I'll try and ring them tomorrow I think. It's awkward as there's only 2 on the team locally so I don't really want to annoy them!

No advice I'm afraid but just wanted to say that you should not be afraid of bothering the midwives - you feel something might not be right, go with your instinct and try to get a second opinion. All the best!

Personally at your gestation I wouldn't wait until tomorrow for a suspected leak of waters, I would contact your triage unit. I do remember having an orange coloured discharge at some point, it was after a particularly painful internal examination when I was 16 weeks because my uterus was stuck in my pelvis. Midwife said that it may have just upset things a bit and to let her know if it didn't go after a few days. It went on its own, but I would get yourself checked out, particularly as it's sweet smelling.

I think my gut is saying to get it checked, but I always worry I'm being paranoid and over reacting!
I'm on my own with 5yoDS and he's in bed, so going to hospital tonight would be a big faff, so I'll see how it is in the morning and then maybe ring them for advice!
If she hadn't said it could be my waters I wouldn't have thought anything of it, but it's playing on my mind now!
Thank you for the advice tho it's made me think maybe I'm not being totally paranoid!

Just spoken to the maternity ward and the loveliest midwife in the world, and she says that her gut is saying that is isn't my waters, as I'm not drenching pads and it's been going on for a while. Very relieved now, thanks again everyone
