bloody morning sickness

Just that. I need to winge and wail and have a bit of self indulgent moaning.

I'm nearly 14 weeks and after my all bloody day morning sickness final easing about a week ago it's now decided to come back and I feel like poo!

I've been signed off with severe morning sickness since 6 weeks it started getting manageable last about a week ago and I finally got back to work Monday. I wouldn't like to say I was better, I still felt sick pretty much all the time and my everything hurt but I could get out of bed and manage to get through the day... Unlike yesterday evening when I started being sick again. Then this morning I went to get up and started being sick again. I had to call up a very unimpressed work and ask to work from home and I've been sick on and off ever since

I just want to feel like myself again when will it bloody end?!

Agh poor you! I had morning sickness up to 14 weeks and then it miraculously disappeared almost overnight (at which point I started panicking something was wrong with the baby and paid for a private scan). I don't think I had it as bad as you though - I just felt extremely hungover from about 7 weeks with the odd throwing up incident. I did manage to go to work where i was as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike.

I assume you have seen your GP if you have been off work - have they given you anything to support you?

Runner I was exactly the same. I'm now 17+6 and finally feeling better, but still really weak. I've been off work since week 6 and hoping to get back at 19 weeks. Nausea got much better about 16 weeks, so hang in there and just take your time.

Are you on medication for it? There are a number of drugs that are very effective.

Thanks Green yeh I have seen my GP but as I'm able to keep food down and it's more debilitating nausea that's my problem there's not much they can do.

Good to know I'm not along Lily at this rate I'll be back Dow the dr for another sick note. I probably should have been more cautious but I felt so much better last week I hope you're right and I start feeling much better in a week or two.

What I have been offered medication but the dr's have told me that because I'm able to keep food and drink down (only usually throw up once or twice a day) and my main problem is the nausea making me feel retched and useless, they don't actually think drugs will do me much good.
I also have friends and family with similar symptoms and they've all said that the drugs don't touch the nausea they just stop you being sick.

That sounds really difficult. It's not unusual to feel better, overdo it and then have a few steps backwards. Rest really is key. Dh berates me when I overdo it and then get I'll again.
The medications can affect people differently and even vary between pregnancies. I've tried three types of medication to get the one that works best for me. I was reluctant to take meds but wish I'd done it sooner. Your hormones will keep going up and down so somedays you'll feel more rotten. It does get easier and it does stop eventually. runner There's no judging on the thread and never tmi. You won't have your experience minimised, it's certainly a haven away from people suggesting you eat ginger!

HA! Don't get me started on people telling you to eat bloody ginger!

A dr dos that to me the other day and I looked her in the eye and told her that I was likely going to punch the next person who suggested bloody ginger... She laughed though so I don't think she believed me

Yes ginger and dried crackers. When i eat the dried crackers I throw them up! Really happy to be pregnant (9w4) but so hating the all day nausea and being sick every morning and evening.
