Do I need to go to one? Was meant to be there this afternoon but a fussy, feeding baby meant I missed it. Next free appointment GP has is end of March so seems pointless. I feel fine & no stitches to check so is it worth it?

Yes! They pick hyp dysplasia up, among many other things. I have a friend who is facing her second hip replacement in her early 40s because of this. If it had been diagnosed when she was a tiny baby her hips would have been really easy to fix.

It's not just for you, it's for your baby too. Of course it's your choice if you go but there are things that could be picked up that weren't picked up before.

Lj8893 his check is separate where I live

Not critical for you if you feel ok. If anything concerns you go. Main topic is contraception.

My ConfusedShockHmm reaction to this topic isn't unusual I think judging by my doctors response.

If your baby has a separate one and you feel fine then I wouldn't bother. I had stitches that needed checking and they saw dd1 at the same time.m

KittyandTeal · 24/02/2016 18:43

Oh yeah littlebear, I had the same reaction to the contraception talk. Felt about 12

GlitteryFluff · 24/02/2016 18:45

I went for mine which was a combined one with DS. I was not asked anything about me, my recovery or anything. I had a section, not sure if that changes anything. I wouldn't bother if you feel everything is ok with you.

JaniceJoplin · 24/02/2016 18:54

I didn't bother with DC2 but I will with DC3. I want to discuss stitches healing, iron levels, vit D levels, a plan to lose weight for good oh and my dodgy pelvis. I should have done this before but I fell into the trap of forgetting about my own health and just focusing on the kids.

Lj8893 · 24/02/2016 19:11

Not massively necessary for you then no. I've never heard of separate ones, what a faff!

toohardtothinkofaname · 25/02/2016 00:24

Tell me about it! It's a double appointment just for me so trying to book a space is a 'mare. For ds I have to go in to a drop-in clinic & wait for a slot, God knows how long I'll be there!
