Question about c- section pre-op appointment

I'm meant to have a c section at uclh but still waiting for a date (I'm currently 38wks). Thankfully I read somewhere that before an elcs women need to have a pre-op appointment. The hospital forgot to arrange this for me so they're trying to get me a date asap. Can anyone tell me what should be discussed at this appointment, what tests need to be done etc.? I want to avoid a situation where I turn up for the c-section and they can't do it because we haven't done the necessary prep/tests/forms etc. beforehand!
Cheers

They give you a tablet to take - can't remember what for now - blood pressure etc - talk you through the op and tell you no food after 8pm and not water after midnight - type thing

Mine involved a lot of hanging around waiting for the anaesthetist!

I had a normal antenatal check, bloods to check iron/platelets etc and I was given a note of timings/when to stop eating etc. I was also given some acid tablets to take the night before and the morning of the operation.

Brief discussion with anaesthetist about what would happen on the day and that was it. I had already signed consent forms, but if you haven't, you will need to do that.

Some people I know have had MRSA swabs, but I was just asked if I had had it before!

They swabbed me for MRSA (groin and nose), weighed me, got me to sign consent forms, gave me a form for bloods (to check blood group etc in case I needed a transfusion), and gave me a prescription to take to the pharmacy for pre-op meds (anti emetic and antacid).

That was it, I think.
