fibronectin positive result

wondering if anyone has had this and what happened?
28+1, Lost my show and had a positive test with tightening being picked up on ctg.
had first set of steroids.
wondering if anyone has any experiences and what happened?

I know a girl who had a positive and went on to give birth at 39 weeks. I on the other hand was losing my bloody show from 29 weeks with day long lots of contractions that were painful, it continued for weeks until I had the swab done at 33 and half weeks, it said negative. They told me 99% sure I wouldn't have a baby in at least the next two weeks. My midwife wasn't happy and sent me back to triage the next day where I was monitored and showed to be having contractions every 6 mins. They gave me first steroid jab, then went back the next day(Friday) for the next one. Saturday morning I went back up with contractions every 3 minutes and I was 5cm dilated. This was just 2.5 days from having the negative swab.

I had a positive result at 30 weeks, tightenings were picked up by monitor but was discharged and gave birth at 39 weeks!
They told me that the positive result is very unreliable xx

Had a lot of leaking fluid and cramps today, have another scan and ffn tomorrow. Home on bed rest since having ssteroids, stitch and medication to stop contractions.
Fingers crossed for a negative rresult tomorrow.
