Hi all - since about lunch time I've had on and off lower back pain on my right side. It almost feels like it is in my kidneys because it sort of comes in (mild) waves. But I have no other symptons at all with passing urine or anything. I am 11 weeks + 5. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this just normal back ache? Or anything to worry about?? I'm not at home at the moment so probably feeling more anxious than normal- so any advise or shared experiences really welcomed. Thanks.

Have you been lifting or over doing it abit newby..
Or sat funny,

I know I get backache etc if I have over done it and I am due the same day as you..

If you are worried phone NHS direct for advise...

Not really, although I did come away away today and was carrying my overnight bag for a while. I might well have slept funny. Am also very constipated so wonder if that has anything to do with it. Its the fact that it comes in waves (albeit mild) that is worrying me if anything.

Nice to chat to someone due the same day!!!

Have you tried drinking fresh orange for the constipation, as this could be causing thepain... also if you have gone away you were probably sat for a while...

Is this your first.. I cant remember fromt he July thread you posted on..

Thanks - I'll try that. Yes - been sat on the train for a couple of hours today. So perhaps the combination of all those things.

Yes, this is my first - had a mc in May this year so have been over-anxious in this one! HAd a scan at 10 weeks and all was fine and on track, so feeling less worried about mc more just hoping everything is OK generally.

Often when you're pregnant you don't get any symptoms of a uti - so no burning when peeing, etc. Could be worth getting a urine spec checked out if pain continues.

thanks rhubarbcat - I didnt know that, but thats very useful to know - it sort of does definitely feel kidney related. I have a call out to the NHS Direct at the moment.

newby- what did NHS direct say..
How are you feeling today.

newby29 · 30/12/2006 10:43

Thanks for thinking of me twoplusone. Well, while I was waiting for the NHS direct to call back I phoned the out of hours service here and they said I should go to the out of hours doctors this morning to get checked out - which I did, and all is well! He said it was just standard lumber pain. I must rememeber not to worry so much!

12 weeks tomorrow! Are you too? I have my scan on Thursday which I am counting down the days too, but also very nervous!

Logging off now as staying with parents, but will check back later!
