31 weeks - what have you done to prepare for 2nd child?

Wondering what else is left to do?

Have sorted and washed clothes for first three months
Bought carrycot, snuzpod and baby bjorn chair
Begun tidying and sorting cupboards
Need to batch cook, sort changing bags etc...

How old is DC1? Lots of people advise bags of new/'special' toys or books for sitting down activities whilst you're feeding DC2, although I never did anything so organised (dc1 was 22mo when dc2 born)

I'm now 31 weeks pg with dc3 and so far have:

• booked doula for birth and postnatal help
• started stockpiling nappies and wipes and so on
• almost packed hospital bag
• trying to work through a load of decluttering/admin stuff I want to do that will probably get abandoned for another couple of years once baby's here!

On my to-do list is

• get buggy overhauled at buggy repair place
• wash and sort clothes, blankets and cloth nappies and find somewhere to put them
• buy a soft wrap sling to replace one I lost
• look for a few more baby chairs/beanbags etc to plonk baby on at various points round the house whilst I deal with older children/chores etc.
• make up cot in right room
• possibly buy some presents for older dc - we got dc1 a new cuddly toy 'from baby' when dc2 arrived and I remember being very pleased with some toys the midwife gave me and older sister when younger sister was born
• get some online shops full of snacks and easy food set up for close to due date

He will be 3.5 - at nursery 2.5 days a week - hoping this help. Also dh having 6 weeks of as well too.

Only 26 weeks but DC2 room is painted and most furniture built (Dps job to build the cot this weekend) stock piling nappies and wipes (nappies in various sizes) need to learn how to use my new sling (didn't have one with DS)

My to do list is to wash and iron all clothes being reused from DS1 but planning on doing this when I finish for mat leave at 36 weeks. Buy a present for DS1 from DS2 but need to wait until nearer the time to make sure it's something he will really love. Pack hospital bags but waiting until about 32 weeks before I start this.

Love the idea of activities for DS1 while feeding DS2!

So far everything I've done for dd2 includes:

29 weeks...dd1 is 2 and a half...been battling hyperemesis while trying to work. I'm so behind! Luckily I'm finishing work very early at 32 weeks this time as I just can't cope anymore and I'm quitting my job anyway.

31 weeks with dc2. So far I've boxes clothes we will be using again this time. Got the car seat down from the loft.
Booked builders to start putting sky lights in our roof.
Booked plastering in our bedroom.
Started Kondoing house.
I'm not in denial that this baby is coming soon, oh no

Same situation here!
Sorted DC1's old clothes, bedding, toys.
Chosen car seat for DC1 (only just outgrown infant seat) but not bought yet.
Trying to get some DIY stuff done, but as husband is SAHD, I work and we have no nearby family to look after DC1, this is tricky.
Not done hospital bag yet, but I know it won't be as stuffed full of things this time
Bought several lovely woven wraps as didn't use sling at all last time and think it might be a lifesaver: 3 hour feeding sessions on sofa aren't going to be an option now!
Might re-read my Juju Sundin Birth Skills book, it was so helpful for labour last time, but given it lasted only 6 hours, am expecting a rapid arrival for DC2!
Still need to write birth plan with different requests in mind, following experiences first time. Less about me, more about what happens to baby afterwards (i.e. asking them not to dress baby after initial post birth skin-to-skin hour, no Vit K injection or eye drops).

33 weeks with no.2 and have sorted nothing out yet. You are all hyper organised.
My section is booked for 23rd March and we've moved house recently. Our bedroom needs painting and I haven't even unpacked my own clothes yet.

I'm 34+1 with no.2 and the only thing I've done so far is dig out my nighties from the back of the wardrobe and run them through the washer.

I think I may have to get a move on and do it this weekend though - DS1 arrived at 35 weeks.

Started building work on monday!
Thought about getting baby clothes out of loft but too scared incase I wash them and they get brick dust all over them.
Attempted a hospital bag - pretty badly.
Got a moses basket out of the loft.
Brought a second baby monitor (still like to nose on my 2 year old on his video monitor).
Slightly anxious as baby is breech and placenta praevia and ?accreta so my need to deliver sooner rather than later (currently 34 weeks).
Need to get my act in gear and think we are slightly crazy starting building work.
C'est la vie

Bought chocolate buttons for hospital bag and eaten them
Bought stuff from scary aisle in boots
Written list of stuff that needs to come down from loft
Thought about labour / childcare arrangements

wombat I'm so glad to heat in not the only one starting building work so close to due date. I'll be 36 weeks when they start.
