C-section tummy and overhang - preventable?

I've read stories of women saying they had 'overhang' after their c-section. Can anything be done to prevent this? E.g. surgeon's technique? Or belly band? Or is it inevitable?

I'm size 24-26 yet no particular overhang. I think it's luck really.

I have an overhang. Had a vaginal delivery though. And I'm not fat.

And no, your body won't necessarily return if you eat well and exercise.
