Itching in pregnancy?????

Hi ladies...i have had really bad itching my my 2 previous pregancies and i'm now 16 weeks pg and just waiting for it to come on but NOTHING! I used to be really itching on my legs and tummy. has anyone had this? I just find it weird that i've not started with this little one. Sorry just wanted to share this with you. I ended up with really bad marks on my legs the last times.

I scratched my belly in 2nd pregnancy, it was awful, kept making myself bleed. I had blood tests done to see if it was something to do with my liver iirc. Just had to smother myself in calamine lotion. 1st pregnancy I didn't scratch at all.

brilmum...it is a good thing that you are not itching!

Can I just butt in and ask what you did to ease the itching? I am 14 weeks and for the last week I have hed terrilbe itching on my boobs, legs, chest, tummy. Its driving me mad. Do I need to see the midwife of just tell her when I see her in two weeks?

swift1, as bursting said for severe itching they will want to check liver functions. If that is normal then it may just be something you have to deal with as best you can Hopefully they can advise you on some things to use to ease it. One of the mums on my antenatal thread had terrible itching. At least it went away after she gave birth.

i had HORRIBLE itching for the last 6 weeks of pg - used to wake me up at night and make me cry. i took piriton and tried every cream i could but acupunture actually made some difference and i wish i'd started it earlier. i also used to freeze facecloths and ice packs and use them in my bed at night. it only went away when i had dd.
